Client Referral Scheme – The Legal Bit

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the referral scheme run by Cheryl, a freelance copywriter and content writer. By participating, you (the referring client) agree to the following:

1. Referral Reward

You can earn £50 for each successful referral when a new client signs up to a 6 or 12-month contract, subject to the conditions below.

2. Eligibility

To refer someone and be eligible for the £50 reward, you must:

Be on an active 6 or 12-month contract with me for my services, with at least 3 months remaining, and no outstanding unpaid invoices, or
Have completed a 6 or 12-month contract within the past 6 months, with all invoices fully paid.

3. Referral Process

Ask your friend or the organisation you’re referring to mention your name or your organisation when they sign up.
Let me know that you’ve referred that person or organisation.
If they sign up for a 6 or 12-month contract and successfully pay at least the first 3 months of their invoices, you will receive £50 via bank transfer.

Note: The new client must have no overdue or outstanding payments of any kind.

4. Payment

You’ll need to provide your UK bank details for you to receive payment.
The £50 payment will be made within 30 days of both of the following criteria being met in combination:
- The referred client completing their third paid month, and
- Me receiving your correct bank details.

5. If Payment Cannot Be Made

If I’m unable to transfer the £50 to your UK bank account, I’ll work with you to resolve it.
If it cannot be resolved within 45 days of the third paid month and receiving your bank details, the offer will be withdrawn, and you forfeit the reward with no recourse.

Any unclaimed or unresolved rewards may be donated to a carbon offset or tree planting charity of my choice on or before 30 March 2026. You will have no claim or recourse to this money.

6. Fair Use & Conduct

If you:

Withhold payment details in an attempt to delay the payout, or
Owe money to me, or
Attempt to defraud, defame, or otherwise negatively impact my business, then

…you will immediately lose eligibility for the reward and for any other recourse.

7. Availability & Geography

This offer is valid from 6 April 2025 to 30 March 2026.
This offer may be withdrawn at any given time without prior notice.
This offer is only open to UK-based clients paying into UK-based bank accounts.
Referred clients may be based anywhere in the world.

8. Liability

This referral scheme is entirely optional. By taking part, you agree that:

You cannot sue, demand, or otherwise pursue me for the referral reward if the terms and conditions are not met.
The scheme is run in good faith, and I reserve the right to amend or withdraw it at any time.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by UK law, as practiced in England and Wales. Any disputes will be heard in the courts of Cardiff.
